With six months to go how are plans for The Sign Show 2008 progressing?
Preparations for the event are coming along extremely well. We are very grateful to the industry for all its support.
The whole team at Link is working extraordinarily hard to create a successful event full of fresh ideas. As publishers of leading monthly trade publications, Sign-Link and Print Monthly, we are drawing on over 15 years experience in the industry. We are in the unique and enviable position of being in direct daily contact with thousands of sign professionals.
This means that we are listening to what the industry wants from such a trade event, and acting on the opinions of the individual sign maker as well as the large corporations. Media Partnerships have been secured with a range of sign-related trade publications and events including Sign Directions and Screen Expo, as well as with the popular dedicated forum The Sign Site. The show is also officially supported by well-established lighting exhibition, euroLED. This offers us a further opportunity to not only raise the profile of the event, but another avenue for feedback from sign professionals.
We have learnt that the industry is crying out for a new and innovative approach and we are responding to it.
What can visitors expect from the event?
We are offering a varied and extensive exhibitor profile, so that there will be something of interest to every one. I would actively encourage every sign professional working across the industry to take time to visit the event.
The past few years have seen numerous shows come and go, never quite hitting the nail on the head when it comes to getting the mix just right.
Unlike similar events, The Sign Show will not focus on one particular aspect of the trade, but is aiming to unite the entire industry. We recognise the importance of every area of this vast sector and wish to pay deserved attention to the sign industry’s roots as well as its exciting future. Each week the show is growing and those who are confirmed to exhibit are making their own announcements about product launches and new technologies that they are planning for the event.
What unique features are being offered by The Sign Show?
We are very proud that The Sign Show has been chosen to host the 2008 Sign Industry Awards, supported by the BSGA. This “Oscars” of the sign world will give us all a chance to celebrate the achievements of the trade and is always a highlight of the industry calendar.
Educational aspects are obviously important and our conference and seminar programme is being planned in response to the feedback we have received from sign professionals to truly address the issues that are important to them. For example, a comprehensive LED conference is going to be held in association with Photonics Cluster (UK).
Another of our aims is to ensure that the exhibition offers interactive demonstrations. Personally I am particularly looking forward to the to LIVE area that will be created throughout the event using both traditional and modern equipment and techniques.
What benefits will exhibitors experience from appearing The Sign Show?
Our experience in the industry has resulted in an extensive contact list. We will be personally inviting thousands of sign makers, sign writers, screen printers, engravers, shopfitters, large format digital printing companies, electronic digital signage buyers, exhibition designers, stand contractors and organisers, sign lighting suppliers and equipment manufacturers and distributors to the event.
Our venue, The Ricoh Arena is unique in that not only does it boast the largest column free exhibition space in the Midlands, but offers an abundance of space for private formal or informal meetings.
We have also enlisted the services of Attend TV, a brand new internet television station dedicated to showcasing UK events and exhibitions. The crew will be on hand to capture the event and immortalise The Sign Show experience. This service is a great follow-up for your potential leads and makes a perfect post-event marketing tool.
